GOLF CIRCUS & TENNIS RAPALLO
Golf Circus & Tennis Rapallo was established in 1931 and enjoyed immediate success. The Ligurian mountains that surround the golf course and the tennis court serve as protection from the cool winter breezes, while the proximity of the sea offers pleasant cooling effect during the warm summer months making year-round play possible.
SAILING
Santa Margherita Ligure hosts many Regattas every year. The most important are the “Primavera Regattas” which are held annually at the beginning of May. They are organized by Yacht Club Italiano and Circolo Velico. It is a perpetual challenge trophy established by Beppe Croce in 1945 and the winning prize is the Carlo Negri Cup.
ROWING
Santa Margherita Ligure is well-known in Italy thanks to the sport of rowing, especially by the Canottieri Argus Society. Founded in 1910, the society has won numerous Italian and two European titles and many of its athletes are part of the national team. The award-winning Remiera Gianni Figari Club of Palio Remiero of Tigullio brings the local tradition of fixed-seat rowing to a new level.
DIVING
The marine seabeds along the protected areas offer crystalline waters and unmatched beauty for scuba divers. There are numerous diving centres located in the area.
MOUNTAIN BIKING AND CYCLE TOURISM
Cyclists can enjoy a multitude of cycling paths, either along the coast or inland. There are also many different levels and itineraries for mountain bike enthusiasts including downhill, freestyle, endurance and cross-country.
